A recent survey conducted by the city of Portland has highlighted growing concerns among residents regarding the city’s affordability and traffic conditions. The survey, which gathered responses from over 1,000 residents across Portland’s five districts, aimed to assess public satisfaction with various municipal services and overall quality of life.
The findings indicate that approximately 75% of respondents are dissatisfied with the cost of living and the availability of affordable housing in Portland. Additionally, nearly 50% expressed dissatisfaction with the value received for city taxes and fees. Traffic flow and the maintenance of streets and sidewalks also emerged as significant concerns among residents.
Despite these challenges, the survey revealed that residents are generally pleased with core city services such as public safety and waste management. City officials have acknowledged these concerns and plan to discuss the survey results in an upcoming council meeting to explore potential solutions and improvements.
