College Athletics
Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) offers a range of collegiate athletic programs. The SMCC SeaWolves participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). Men’s teams include baseball, basketball, golf, and soccer, while women’s teams feature basketball.
Professional and Semi-Professional Teams
Portland is home to several professional and semi-professional sports teams:
- Portland Sea Dogs: The Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, the Sea Dogs play at Hadlock Field, which features a replica of Fenway Park’s Green Monster, known as the “Maine Monster.”
